The host Islanders have a 0-1 lead over the visiting Australian team in the two-match series. The Sri Lankan team had defeated the Australian team by 49 runs in the first ODI.

Earlier, the visiting Australian team had swept the host Islanders in the two-Test series. The Kangaroos had defeated them by an innings and 242 runs in the first Test match and by 9 wickets in the second Test match. The Australian men’s team is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka where they will play a two-Test and two-ODI series against the host team.
